After receiving his first camera at the age of 6 Derek has always exhibited a great passion for photography and shown a natural flare for this art form. At the young age of 10 Derek began working as a junior videographer for his father's company JCIL Video Productions and continued in this role until 1996 when he started working as a professional Graphic Designer. Since then Derek's technical knowledge of the photographic equipment combined with his outstanding design skills have made him one of Australia's leading nature photographers.
